Use Netvibes

August 23, 2006

If you haven’t heard of Netvibes.com then, be ready to have heard about it.

Netvibes.com is this cool thing called an “internet desktop” (I’m not sure if they want to be called that, but that’s what we’ll call it for now.)

Netvibes.com allows you to have all of your RSS feeds into once place with their custom RSS reader. You’re able to customize how many articles you have, the name of the object. It’s extremely nice.

There’s so many features on it I might as well just make one of those cute lists like I always do. Here

  • Built in RSS/Atom reader (you can attach literally any feed you can find)
  • Multiple page organization (you can seperate your news from your email from your to-do list)
  • Full customization of almost everything (you can change the color of blocks, change the title of the page)
  • It’s completely AJAX! There is 0, that’s right folks 0 page refreshes on this site!
  • You can add content like
    • web notes
    • local weather
    • bookmarks
    • del.icio.us
    • top digg stories
    • box.net storage viewer
    • alexa traffic
    • meebo
    • writely documents

Dude, this site has an interface for all of it and they just received 15$ million dollars in funding for the site which rocks. You can read their blog here. I suggest you check it out and even use it. You can literally have everything you usually do on the web in one place. It is the most useful place I think I’ve invested time in signing up at in quite a while. I get a good vibe from this site :) I really do. Okay, that was terrible. Bye.
